FUE Hair Transplant Technique
What Exactly Is a Hair Transplant?
In a hair transplant, a hair surgeon moves healthy hair from a region with high hair density to one with low hair density or where a patient has lost all their hair.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) and Sapphire FUE are the most common techniques for transplanting hair.
Channel openning is done using sterile slit or Sapphire. Depending on the quality of the roots (length, thickness and texture), channels are opened. In this process, the canal is opened frequently so that no other root can enter between the two roots.
Hair Transplant in Turkey
For those seeking a high-quality and affordable hair restoration procedure, Turkey has become a popular choice.
Direct Hair Implantation (DHI), Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Sapphire Fue are some of the most popular hair transplant techniques in Turkey.
Hair transplant clinics in Turkey offer more affordable and quality hair transplant procedures than any other clinic in Europe and the USA, without sacrificing the quality of the procedure.
Advantages of Hair Transplant
- Long Lasting Solution: Hair transplantation provides a long lasting solution to hair loss because transplanted hair follicles do not fall out as they are resistant to balding. Proper maintenance and care of the transplanted hair is necessary to ensure its longevity.
- Natural-looking results: Hair transplant provides natural-looking results, the transplanted hair follicles seamlessly integrate with the existing hair, creating a natural-looking result.
- Low maintenance: After a hair transplant, the transplanted hair can be maintained with the same care routine as natural hair, which includes regular washing and styling. There is no need for any additional treatments or special products.
- Cost-effective: Even though hair transplants have a high initial cost, they can be a cost-effective solution in the long run since they provide permanent hair restoration.
After Hair Transplantation Care and Recovery Process
After a hair transplantation procedure, it is crucial for the patient to follow the guidelines set by the doctor and adjust their lifestyle accordingly, as this directly affects the success of the operation. Following a careful post-hair transplant process for an average of 12 months is necessary, with regular follow-ups needed on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
First 3 Days
After a hair transplant, the first three days are critical, and patients should rest at home and avoid contact with water or chemicals. Pain from anesthesia can be managed with medication, and the patient should not wash their hair during this time. After three days, they can wash their hair with the doctor’s supervision and use recommended care products during the recovery period.
First Week
During the first week after hair transplantation, the patient should avoid heavy work, stress, sports, sex, smoking, and alcohol, and protect the head from trauma. The transplanted area is left open to facilitate rapid crusting, which can take about a week and creates a slightly injured appearance. The appearance disappears as the crusts fall off in 10-15 days.
First 1 Month
The shedding process of transplanted hair occurs from the second week to the end of the third month after a hair transplant. During this period, called shock shedding, most hair follicles will fall out in the first month, with the rest falling out at intervals over six months. Patients should avoid strenuous activities and wet areas like pools and the sea, and avoid scratching the planting area if itching occurs
First 3 Months
After the hair follicles shed in the first month, new hair starts to grow slowly at the end of 3 months. During this period, hair follicle strengthening applications such as hair Vitamin, mesotherapy and PRP can be performed.
From the beginning of hair growth to about 6 months, the hair reaches its natural length. The remaining part of the hair follicles, which grow at a rate of 70% in 6 months, continues to grow in a healthy way for 1 year.
Risks of Fue Hair Transplantation
Like other operations, there may be side effects and problems in hair transplantation. After these operations, there may be traumatic scars and swellings on the scalp. These problems are usually temporary and short-lived. Side effects that can be seen after hair transplantation;
- Swelling and bruising under the eyes
- Scars in the transplant area and donor area
- Post-operative blood leakage
- Infection
- Numbness in the anesthetized areas
- Loss of transplanted hair (shock loss)
All these side effects are temporary. So you don’t have to be afraid or worried. The most risky situation that can occur is infection. This is treated quickly with the early intervention of our team and the hair grows naturally in that area without any problems.
Unshaven Hair Transplant
Unshaven hair transplantation is applied to areas with partial shedding or partial sparseness in the front line, in the crown area or in a certain area of the upper part of the head, without cutting the hair completely. Only the area where the hair is taken is shaved. The area to be transplanted is usually not shaved.
